Frequently Asked Questions
What information do you need from Brides?
By including all of the info below Kim can deal with your enquires more efficiently:
Your name (or the name of the Bride if you are booking for someone else)
Date that the services are required for
The time that the Bride and the bridal party need to be ready for
Name and Address of the Venue where Kim's service will be required
How many people require makeup (i.e Bride, x3 Bridesmaids, Mother of the Bride/Groom)
Any important information Kim should be made aware of, such as particular makeup this required, if there are any specifics about the skin that are important for any of the Bridal Party members, if there are any sensitivities to particular product. And lastly any specific questions you may have for Kim.
What are the payment methods?
Cash & Bank Transfer is accepted.
When should I book a trial?
Trials can be booked as far in advance as required. Most brides have them around 4-6 weeks prior to the wedding day. All looks are photographed and documented and products used are noted to ensure the chosen look is replicated perfectly on the big day.
Makeup trials are not just for the purpose of working out the perfect look but also to ensure that there are no skin reactions or sensitivities to the products used. It is however, the clients responsibility to inform Kim should any reaction occur after the trial so that she avoids the use of the product(s) that caused it.
A trial also gives you the opportunity to meet Kim face to face and get to know each other as after all, she will be spending hours with you on your wedding morning.
How long does the Bridal makeup take?
Bridal trials usually take up to 2 hours (anything longer would require a second trial to be booked).
Wedding Makeup for the bride usually takes 1 hour with bridal party members (bridesmaid, mother of the bride/groom) taking up to 50 minuets each.
Brides tend to want to be ready an hour before they are required to leave for the ceremony in order to leave enough time to get dressed, have a glass of champagne and perhaps some photographs.
Time disappears quickly on the morning of the wedding therefore Kim highly recommends scheduling plenty of time for makeup before having to leave.
When would an assistant be required for a booking?
An assistant (another highly recommended makeup artist) is sometimes required to assist Kim on Bridal bookings. This is required if:
The start time for a booking is amended to be later but the finish time is to be the same; or
If Kim thinks that the booking is not possible for one person due to the time constraints.
You will be told during the initial booking enquiry if an assistant is required.
Are lashes included in the price for Bridal makeup?
Yes, lashes are included in the price for Bridal makeup, however there is no reduction in price if they are declined.
Are you insured?
Yes, Kim is fully insured with Salon Gold and has Public Liability.
